Tamara Kneese

Tamara is a PhD candidate in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. Her dissertation examines the concept of the digital afterlife, particularly looking at the processes by which digital assets such as blogs, Facebook profiles, and email accounts become digital heirlooms worthy of preservation. Her interests include the history of the estate, mourning and memorialization, logics of valuation, and affect theory.
