Julia Haines

I am a PhD Candidate in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at University of California, Irvine, where I conduct research in the field of Informatics. I work in the Hana Research Group with Judy Olson and Gary Olson. I am currently working on my dissertation research on the development and growth of global innovation ecosystems.

I am interested in studying environments and complex problems at the intersection of collaboration, technology, and culture. In general, I research topics related to computer supported cooperative work (CSCW), collaborative technologies, human-computer interaction (HCI), and social informatics. In my current PhD work, I focus more specifically on issues and themes related to innovation practices, social creativity, globally-distributed teams, and intercultural collaboration.
