Gabriele Ferri

Gabriele Ferri is a post-doc researcher at Indiana University. His general research investigates different modes of criticality in the overlapping of different discourses (politics, social satire, marketing, intercultural dialogue...) and gaming practices (advergaming, serious gaming, urban gaming, "gamification"). He is also exploring how game mechanics can be applied to creative brainstorming and concept generation.

Before moving to the USA, he was contract teacher and academic professional at the University of Bologna (Italy) where he received his Ph.D. in Semiotics. In the past, Gabriele has also collaborated with the universities of Perugia, Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy).

Since 2009, Gabriele has co-organized different workshops at the ICIDS (International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling) conference series. He is also an editor for G|A|M|E Journal.
